Caulfield Wright Architects were commissioned in 2015 by Castle Park School for a new performing Arts Theatre. Planning permission was granted by Dun Laoghaire /Rathdown County Council in January 2018. The new space is inserted on an existing terrace and uses the existing structures to support the new enclosure. The stage is set to form a deep overhang over an existing area below giving access to the sports hall, swimming pool and changing rooms. This shelters the children moving between these spaces and provides a vibrant and colourful waiting space for parents coming to school performances. The new space is partially day-lit so that it functions well as a teaching space in addition to full stage and seating capacity for up to 334 people.
Other recently completed projects for this school include new tutorial rooms, new library & learning resource centre and two new playgrounds in addition to the restoration and conservation of the Gateway and Gate Lodge.
